Everything you need to mention, review, or share Brainblox.

Elevator pitch

Brainblox is a free daily puzzle game built around eight painted wooden blox. Each day brings one hidden code to break and one square wall to build — the same two puzzles for everyone, playable in a browser, as an installable PWA, or on itch.io.

Blox in the Box

A hidden code fills a wide, shallow box. Your job is to work out which of the eight blox belongs in each position. After every guess the traffic lights tell you how many pieces are exactly right, how many are the right piece in the wrong place, and how many are not in the code at all.

Brainblox

Build a square wall using all eight blox. Each day brings three new clues about colour and placement, plus the standing rule: no two blox of the same colour may touch side to side, end to end, or corner to corner.

Same day, same puzzles

The daily challenge is generated from the calendar date, so everyone in the world sees the same Blox in the Box code and the same Brainblox wall. You get three lives per puzzle — spend one to lock a correct blox in place if you need a hand.

Share your score

When you're done, copy a spoiler-free result block and challenge your friends. The text reveals how many guesses or attempts you used and how many lives you spent, but never the solution itself.

Hi,

I've been enjoying a new free daily puzzle called Brainblox and thought it might appeal to your audience.

It offers two quick logic puzzles each day, built from the same eight painted wooden blox:

- Blox in the Box — a code-breaking game where you deduce which blox fit into a constrained box, with traffic-light feedback after each guess.
- Brainblox — a tiling puzzle where you fill a square wall using all eight blox while obeying three daily rules (plus the standing rule that no two blox of the same colour may touch).

Both puzzles are the same for everyone each day, take just a few minutes, and produce a spoiler-free score players can share with friends.

You can try today's puzzle here: https://brainblox-a-code-breaking-challenge.lovable.app/daily

It also runs as a Progressive Web App and is playable on itch.io: https://geoffkershaw.itch.io/brainblox-and-blox-in-the-box

I'd love to know what you think. And if you ever feel it deserves a mention, I'd be delighted.

All the best,
Geoff Kershaw
